more line art
September 1, 2008ho ho! i did another line art last night. something is wrong with me lately…i keep doing line art. anyway this time i decided to do something “closer to heart” – JESUS. yupps…i was inspired to do it after coming home from church yesterday. haha! anyway this took me quite long to do too..i started about 9pm last night, and did until 2.30am (while talking to hui kin on msn), and continued it this morning for about 1 hour. so now its finished!
and i purposely made the lines of the child thinner, and that of jesus’ thicker, so that jesus will stand out more since he is the main subject matter of the drawing. and i think the difference in line-thickness also helps to like separate and differentiate the two of them.
anning

whoa this is damn nice! At first I thought it was printed! The style really suits the picture… like one of those biblical prints. It also looks like one of those stamps cos of the shadowing and stuff. And yeah the thinner lines help and it makes the child look younger and more innocent! And the circles are damn round and everything is so precise… Haha will you draw more?
Not bad An-ning!
Great usage of the varying pen lines to model the subjects. I like the way the clothes are modelled with dots. Also, you have successfully managed to create a rather well-balanced contrast between the light and dark areas.
However, I feel that you should enhance the faces of jesus and the child by adding more dots/lines to create shadows and give viewers more sense of depth, as somehow, the faces and the bodies don’t really match harmoniously.
Great effort and keep up the good work!!!
Hmm this is very nice, I thought it was printed too. Sorry this comment is not very constructive…
